Saint Luke's Nurse Designs Heart for Parade of Hearts
Home is where the heart is—at Saint Luke's East Hospital! Now that the Parade of Hearts has concluded, we've brought the heart designed by Saint Luke's nurse Menley Brennan home to Saint Luke's East for permanent display. Hospital executives performed a special dedication ceremony to welcome her heARTwork to its new home. Menley's design was one of 154 designs chosen from more than 700 submissions. It is made of N95 masks sealed in resin. Each mask was worn by a health care provider and signed by her peers at Saint Luke's East. The piece honors the strength and sacrifice of health care workers during the pandemic.
